Recent rains on the Central Coast has brought some relief to our area.  It never fails to amaze me how the pastures at Marena Stud respond - The grass turns green as it rains.  I am supposed to be retired but seem to be busier than ever.

Lindy's two children, Luke 31/2 and Keeley who will be 2 in April are growing taller and faster and require lots of attention from us all.  Luke is interested in everything that happens on the farm.  Keeley loves the animals and is already showing training instincts with the cats and the dogs but she really loves the horses.

No, they are not riding yet - everyone asks that question.  We seem to be too busy teaching other children but we do not intend to rush them - the time will come.  They both sit on front of Lindy and enjoy a canter.

Bruce and I are planning another trip to England this year to visit the Marfleets, who now live in Kent.  They have settled in well and Kate is very busy with Dressage.  She is on the English National Junior Squad.

Our son Peter (our Webmaster) is still working in Mauritius and we hope to visit him in paradise on the way.

We have advertised our wonderful Galloway, Marena Fanfare For Sale.  We have heard rumours from everywhere that he is sold but I can assure he is not sold.  We have never offered For Sale a more genuine Show horse.  We are taking him to Canberra and Sydney Royals so people can view him there.  He has continued his record of winning a Champion at every agricultural show at Morisset on 11/2/07 which was our first show for this year.  Do not miss this horse - he is very good value, quiet, sensible, beautiful with expansive movement and is a winner.

We have a few lovely pony fillies that we are preparing for sale over the next few months.  Because of our downsizing, supply is limited as we are only breading about 6-8 foals a year.

We do have a very nice Thoroughbred gelding by Shifting ready to sell.  He is a brown-bay, 15.5hh with a star on his forehead, is all class with very athletic movement and a quiet nature.  The Shifting foals have sold very quickly.  This gelding is the only one we will have for sale for a while.

Suitable Children's ponies are so scarce that we find our young ponies, carefully trained, have become the best option.  The ones we have sold like this have been most successful.  Pick your star in the paddock and we will do the training to have it ready for your child.  There are not many ponies left of a suitable age.

We have expanded our Riding School activities with more lesson times available and more Schools and Clinics.  We live in a very attractive rural area, so close to Sydney that city people enjoy the trip to Wyong for lessons.

As many of our wonderful School horses are getting old we are looking for well-educated, quiet ponies or galloways to enjoy performing a useful role, as School horses, during their twilight years with us.  Please contact us if you have or know of anything suitable.

We are looking forward to seeing our friends at Canberra and Sydney.  Come and say hello.

Good luck at the shows and kindest regards

Maureen Walker
