Sale is drawing closer and it’s all hands on deck to be ready.
An extra broodmare has been added.
A lovely liver chestnut mare, Marena Firedance (pictured right), daughter of ”the most honest mare to ever looked through a bridle, Marena Sundance and by the multi-champion Weston Sun, therefore she is a double cross of Sun Puff (imp). Firedance was broken and trained, then joined our broodmares. She has been served by Kolbeach Royal Print, and could be shown after the foal is born if desired. Firedance is registered RPSB an eligible 1st cross ASH.Marena Salute pictured left is being ridden by Tim Napakowski ready for some property work as he is being prepared for the Sale. We would like Salute to be used at Stud. We have had a Semen Analysis for fertility test on him and the report was very good (copy available).
Scandal has not been gelded
as it appears in the Catalogue. There was such a high demand for his services
that we did not geld him, so he will be offered in the Sale as a an stallion, to
be kept entire or gelded later as the new buyer wishes.
PLEASE NOTE: Marena Outback’s age was incorrect on the early edition of the Catalogue, he was born on 1997. He is one special horse, the one that suits everyone. He is one of the horses for private sale. See full details and photos of Outback in the Horses for Sale Section.
Marena Ethereal is another of our special mares, she is registered ASH and RPSB.( pictured left).
Her 2010 gelding Marena Victorious is also in the Sale and Stock Horse people who have seen him all like the look of him. We have retained her 2011 filly, Marena Royal Triumph.
Children’s Horses — Good ones are very hard to find. We highly recommend the following;—
Marena Sky Dance — a big pony, she is well educated, experienced at Shows and a very useful pony to ride — She could make any child’s dream come true for show, pony dressage, pony club, jumping, etc. Sky Dance (pictured at left) is a joy to own.
Marena Sunkist — a small pony with extensive training — quiet and kind to handle, should make one of those ponies that go on from child to child over the years. Suitable for Leading Rein and First Ridden Pony, etc.
Marena Well Dressed — is a very quiet little chap. He is well handled and mouthed ready to ride when he is old enough.
There will be a quantity of Horse Gear auctioned also at the conclusion of the Horse Sale. A Supplementary list of Gear will be available closer to the Auction date.
The highlight will be Lindy Walker’s winning Garryowen Saddle and Bridle. This Turnout Gear won the Garryowen and the Esquire Trophies at Melbourne Royal in the same year and in Garryowen appearances she was second to Vicky Lawrie twice and placed on all occasions. Lindy also won the Pauline Falkner Trophy 5 times at the NSW Horse of the Year with this gear. There will be refreshments available by courtesy of the Yarramalong Bush Fire Brigade and it might be a good idea to bring a folding chair. For people unable to attend the Sale in person, Phone Bids will be accepted if the bidder registers with us beforehand (so that our staff can contact you as the Lots come up). Alternatively, bidders may place Pre-sale Bids with the Auctioneer by contacting us before the Sale.
This week we were delighted to receive news of one of our ponies from years back. Marena Capture (Sun Puff / Marena Cameo). We showed her successfully and then sold her to Michelle Leyshan for her daughter Tina who showed her very successfully in Queensland before they move to Macau, China. We lost track of Capture then. Now we have a recent photo’s of her still making children happy and she is 25 years old.
At left, Marena Capture pictured recently, she certainly does not look her age
Merlo of Victoria is very
excited about her purchase of
Marena Dancing pictured left at Bendigo Show with Tamika. It is nice to hear about our horses from their owners We have had some wonderful emails and phone calls from people who are sorry to see us selling our horses; we thank all those well-wishers very much for their kind thoughts. However we are not going away altogether we are reducing our numbers, but we will be breeding only a 3 or 4 foals a year. It is very difficult for us to choose between the females as we have always keep the best females to breed from, but our loss is someone’s gain as we must reduce our numbers
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Sale.
